Weekend MOCA Visit

A few weekends ago I ventured to Downtown LA with a few friends to take a look at MOCA - The Museum of Contemporary Art. There are three MOCA locations in LA. The one downtown was designed by Arata Isozaki and is located on Grand Avenue. It is host to elegant underground galleries, a cafe and the flagship MOCA store. The permanent collection is beautiful and boasts pieces by Basquiat, Rothko, Lichtenstein, Rauschenberg and Pollock.
If you go on a weekend make sure you park in the structure across the street from the Music Hall. From the top story there are amazing views. Also check out Lemonade--the cafe on the ground floor of the museum (they also have another location in Venice Beach). Great food and killer deserts are sold here, not to mention an array of unique and tasty lemonade flavors. Get out there and get cultured, LA!
